Returns & Refund Policy

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022.

1. Your right to cancel (14-day cooling-off period)

If you are a consumer (buying for purposes outside your trade, business or profession), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days without giving any reason.

·     The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day you, or a person you nominate (other than the carrier), receive the goods. If your order is delivered in several parts, it runs from the day you receive the last item.

·     To cancel, tell us clearly before the period ends, for example by emailing info@skillshop.ie with your name, order number and the items you wish to return. You may use the model cancellation form below, but you don't have to.

·     It is enough that you send your cancellation notice before the 14-day period expires.

2. Returning the goods

·     Please send the goods back without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you tell us you are cancelling, to: SkillShop Ltd, 13 Castletown, Leixlip, Co. Kildare, W23 X5T6, Ireland.

·     You pay the direct cost of returning the goods, unless the item is faulty, damaged on arrival or not as described.

·     If you are returning a large or heavy item, such as an AED or a wall cabinet, please contact us first and we will tell you how to send it back and confirm any cost before you return it.

·     Please pack items securely, ideally in their original packaging, and keep proof of postage.

·     Some devices, such as AEDs, contain batteries that carriers may have special rules for. Please contact us before returning one and we will advise how to send it.

·     You may handle the product as you would in a shop to check its nature, characteristics and functioning. You may be liable for any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary for that purpose (for example, if a product has been used on a patient or at an incident, is soiled or damaged, or single-use components have been opened or used).

3. Your refund

·     We will refund all payments received from you, including the original standard delivery cost, within 14 days of the day we are informed of your decision to cancel. If you chose a more expensive delivery method than our cheapest standard option, we do not have to refund the extra cost.

·     We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent them back, whichever is earlier.

·     Refunds are made using the same payment method you used for the original purchase, unless you expressly agree otherwise. You will not be charged any fees for the refund.

4. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

If an item arrives damaged, is faulty or is not as described, please contact us at info@skillshop.ie as soon as possible with your order number and photos. Reporting promptly helps us resolve things quickly; it does not limit your legal rights.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not, you are entitled to a remedy, which may include repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund. We cover reasonable return costs for faulty, damaged or incorrect items. Any manufacturer's warranty supplied with a product is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights. 5. Business customers

The 14-day cancellation right applies to consumers only. It does not apply to orders placed by businesses, public bodies, hospitals, ambulance and emergency services, schools, clubs or other organisations for use in their activities. If you are a business customer and want to return an unused item, please contact info@skillshop.ie and we will consider your request.

6. Quote-only and custom items

Some products are supplied by quotation rather than bought online. Returns for these items are governed by the terms set out in your written quotation.

If you are ordering custom-branded items (for example custom-branded InciTents), please talk to us before you order about how returns will work for them. This does not affect your statutory rights.
